News - 9th November 2007

It was rewarding to see so many Cardiac Patients & Members of the general public assembled at the St David’s car park on a bright but very cold fresh, blustery Friday morning 9th November 07 to partake and indeed now to be able to enjoy the walk around the most beautiful, scenic, and rugged coastal paths of Caerfai Bay, St Davids.

The walk was joined by many members from other Cardiac Groups around Pembrokeshire including members from Narberth, Tenby, Neyland & Saundersfoot, who were but strangers for only a very short period of time. Under the expert guidance of Andrew from Llandissilio & Ian Ross from Fishguard, both pointing out the many points of interest along the coastal path, made the walk so much more interesting & enjoyable. With the added insurance of our Specialist Cardiac Nurse Irene Hartup & Fitness instructor Terry Main keeping a very watchful eye on proceedings, gave extra confidence to all the members. At the end of the walk all were delightfully “watered & fed” with delicious hot bowls of Cawl and other sundries in the Jones’ petite café, Main Street, St Davids.

With so many now partaking in the walks the organisers are having problems as to find suitable café to accommodate the entire group at the end of the walk.

Congratulation were given to Irene Hartup & her husband on celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary on 11th November 07, wishing them both many more happy years together.

Our next meeting will be at the Fishguard Leisure Centre on Friday 16th November 07, with the first session starting at 12.00 noon & the second session at 2.30 pm.
