News - 12th October 2007 Proving the Cardiothoracic Surgeons are still gainfully employed around the Country in their respective Hospitals, we had another four new members joining the Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group on Friday 12th October namely: - Patricia Davies from Scleddau, Peter Hinchliffe of Trefin, Lena Dawson from Letterston and Marian Wixey hailing from Dinas Cross. All were warmly welcomed by the ever-increasing membership of the Group, indeed a very special welcome was given to Lena Dawson who was actually celebrating her birthday on her initiation into the Group. Albeit we still have ten sponsor walk forms to be returned, however we are so pleased to announce sponsorship monies collect thus far is well in excess of £1k. A very special vote of thanks to our Chairman, Terry Grover for his sterling individual effort in collecting £670.00, which indeed proves his popularity with so many within the area. Terry has been awarded the title of “Terry and his pace makers”. Grateful thanks to the general public in their kindness & generosity towards our sponsored walk, which will now take place on Friday 23rd November 07. The general public are more than welcome to join us in the walk, of which the start place & time will be announced nearer the day. The Pembroke Dock Cardiac Rehabilitation Group will be holding a “Healthy Hearts Ball” at Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock on Friday 19th October 07, commencing at 8.00pm until midnight. Dancing to Cottonmouth Jeremy Bentham, bring your own food & drink. Tickets are £5.00 each. Everyone is more than welcome, with or without their parents. All monies raised will be in aid of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme. Perhaps we could find a contender for “Strictly Come Dancing” programme! Uniting with “Steps2Health” & Healthy Heart Community Cardiac Rehabilitation Groups within Pembrokeshire, an organised walk has been arranged for Monday 15th October 07, starting at 10.30am outside the Inn at Wiseman’s Bridge. Also another walk on Wednesday 24th October 07, starting at Neyland Marina (just outside the café) at 10.30am.
