News - 21st September 2007

On Friday 21st September 07 both cardiac sessions were combined into one from 12.00 noon to 2.00pm, due to both Cardiac Nursing Specialists attending a conference in Cardiff. However this was no problem to our fitness Instructor Terry Main who kept everyone under his control.

One member was delighted to introduce his cousin from South Africa, not having seen him for over 63 years. Noel Bush aged 80 years, an ex Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer for 25 years, emigrated to South Africa, himself a cardiac patient, having undergone a triple by-pass, was amazed at the wonderful Cardiac programme which the Fishguard Rehabilitation Group benefited from and he hopes to generate interest into a similar programme once he returns to Johannesburg, in South Africa as he thought it was a brilliant idea.

Two wonderful donations have been received with grateful thanks from Fishguard & District Round Table of £200.00 & £50.00 from Stena Line Ltd.
Shirley Inman ran the raffle for the day of which Terry Grover had donated a wonderful prize.

Sadly there will not be a Cardiac Rehab: meeting on Friday 28th September 07.

Our next regular meeting will be on Friday 5th October 07, when the Group will meet at the yacht Club in Newport, Pembrokeshire at 0930am & 1.30pm to partake in a walk under the guidance of our Cardiac Specialists.
