Welcome to the
Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group Established 2007 |
News - 21st December 2007 With Christmas just around the corner, 28 members of the Fishguard Cardiac Group entertained the two Cardiac Specialist Nurses, Paula Emery & Irene Hartup and the fitness Instructor, Terry Main, to their very first Christmas Lunch at the Harp Inn, Letterston on Friday 21st December 07. All three professionals having worked with such true ardour, dedication & dauntlessness throughout the year, to encourage, help and support to the ever growing Cardiac Group, were delighted and overwhelmed to have been invited to a superb cornucopia festive meal as supplied by the management of the Harp Inn, as well as a deserved rest from their weekly evolutions at the Fishguard Leisure Centre. The Chairman, Mr Terry Grover of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Group in his address given during the Lunch thanked the three professionals for all their hard work and commitment, which was second to none. He also gave thanks to those persons that donated so many wonderful raffle prizes for the day, which raised a considerable amount of money to help boost the Group’s coffers. In his suggestion of holding more similar functions within the coming year such as the current wonderful enterprise, which has indeed encouraged new friendships and promoted a sense of general well-being, between patients & Carers, brought a very enthusatistic round of applause. He also received a rapturous round of applause when he suggested that invitations to attend such functions be sent to other Rehabilitation Groups in Pembrokeshire so as to unite the organisations together and extend our friendship and companionships more widely. Grateful thanks were given to the management and staff of the Harp Inn for such a fantastic Christmas Lunch. One of our members celebrating his birthday on 6th December 07 advised members he celebrates his birthday the same day as Santa Clause, so we do not have to go to Lapland any more! Words of advice from our Cardiac Specialists, are to keep active during the festive season will help to burn off all those extra calories, so take brisk walks as often as you can. Burning off calories doesn’t have to be boring you can always dance them off at the Christmas Party. Enjoy yourselves be happy and as already mentioned keep active. Our next Rehabilitation Group meeting will be on Friday 11th January 2008, with the first session starting at 12.00 noon and the second at 2.30pm.
