Sadly on 31st July 08 funding from the Big Lottery Fund for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme came to an end. May I take this opportunity on behalf of all the Cardiac patients in Pembrokeshire in the now well established Rehabilitation Groups in various geographical location, through the media of the press, sincerely thank the Big Lottery Fund for their wonderful support given towards helping & benefiting Cardiac Patients in Pembrokeshire, during their Rehabilitation and back on the road to recovery after their traumatic event.

Grateful thanks is also extended to the managers of the fund, Ms Pauline Turner of Pembrokeshire CC Leisure an Karen Blackmore of the Local Health Board for their dedication and sterling efforts in managing the Fund, albeit a mammoth task. Funding for the professionals, Cardiac Nursing Specialists and Fitness Instructor will continue from PCC & Local Health Board core funding.

After the excellent support given by the general public at Dinas Cross Carnival on 26th July 08, our next outdoor fund-raising events will be at the Nevern Show on Wednesday 6th August 08, Flag Day at Fishguard, Somerfield supermarket on Thursday 7th August 08 and on 16th August 08 our resources will be split between Hayscastle Show & Newport Carnival, our Cardiac Nursing Specialist will be delighted to answer any of your questions relating to or concerning heart problems, which you may have. We are now praying for good weather at all these events not only for ourselves but also for all the hard work that people put into these events to organise and plan each year.

A rendering of “Happy Birthday” was sung in harmony to our dedicated Chairman, Terry Grover, who can now travel free on public transport.

Our next merry meeting of Terry and his Pacemakers will be on Friday 8th August 08 at the Fishguard Leisure Centre with Phase 4 starting at 10.00 am and Phase 3 at 1.00 pm.
