What happened to Autumn? After recently enjoying some glorious weather conditions it seems we have gone from summer straight into winter, as Friday 3rd October 08 was an atrocious day for members to attend the Cardiac Rehabilitation session. However it was a fabulous turnout by members of the Phase 4 Group.

In the temporary absence of both Cardiac Nursing Specialists, Irene & Andy who were attending a Cardiac nursing seminar in York, valuable assistance was given to our Fitness Instructor by Elaine Scale, Exercise Coordinating Officer, from Pembrokeshire County Council. Elaine implemented some new techniques and work out programmes, which we all enjoyed and were amazed at the agility Elaine displayed in instruction and execution of numerous exercises.

During the cooling down period and enjoying that most welcomed cup of tea the Chairman Terry Grover congratulated two of the Group’s stalwart members, Norman and Judith Shale from St Dogmaels who were celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary and made a presentation of novelty gifts and a card signed by all of the Group Members. The Chairman added he was also celebrating an anniversary, as two years to the date his whole life was changed in having a triple by-pass at Morriston Hospital, and reflected upon the magnificent benefits attain in the support and friendship from all the Fishguard Cardiac Group members and indeed the endurance and encouragement given by the dedicated professional staff to whom we all owe so much in our recovery back to better health.

The secretary announced the activity respite holiday to Isle of Wight 11th May – 16th May 2009 had been given approval to organise, which was received with a rapturous round of applause. Any member that wishes to partake in the event please let us know as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The samples of genuine Christmas Cards produced by Ruth were also received with much enthusiasm to purchase with profits going into the Cardiac Rehabilitation Group.

During November the Group are organising an Autumn Bazaar to be held at Dinas in Yr Hen Ysgol (the old School). Other organisations are more than welcome to partake in the “Table Top” event, for more detail please contact Eileen Webb on 01348 811208.

Our next merry meeting of Terry and his pacemakers will be on Friday 10th October 08 at the Fishguard Leisure Centre, Phase 4 group starting at 10.00 am and Phase 3 group starting at 1.00 pm.
