Welcome to the

Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group

News - 5th September 2008

Due to the appalling weather conditions in the morning, members attending the phase 4 group were well down on normal sessions, however phase 3 group members which attended the afternoon gathering was well supported on Friday 5th September 08.

Irene our Cardiac Nursing Specialist was on a well-deserved vacation and our Assistant Cardiac Nursing Specialist Andrew Kirkhouse, who really enjoys his work took the opportunity to portray and exercise his knowledge and skills relating to Cardiac therapy to those members present, looked after all the members on the day.

A memorandum to all Cardiac Members that the next United Cardiac Rehabilitation meeting will be held on Tuesday 23rd September 08 at “The Jolly Roger” Burton 1.00 pm for 1.30pm. If you have any points of views, which you need to air come along for the very informal “Get together”, you will be more than welcome. Hopefully representatives from all the other Rehabilitation Groups within Pembrokeshire will be in attendance.

The secretary announced the majority choice of venue for the proposed respite holiday for 2009 is for the Isle of Wight, in Hampshire, albeit Plymouth in came as a close second, hopefully coming to fruition during the early Spring. If you have not booked, there are still places available.

The Friendship at our Cardiac Rehabilitation Group is second to none; we treat others as you wish to be treated. Friendship requires many qualities: unselfishness, genuine care for other persons, and the ability to be there no matter what, to name but a few. Respect your friends and treat them accordingly and they will do the same for you. If a friend seems to have stopped socialising or is short with you, then instead of thinking, “Oh well, I’m not going to bother with them anymore” consider what the reasons for their behaviour could be and how you would want to be treated in that situation. Your standing by them could make all the difference. We all live by different values and ideas but being a good friend means accepting people for who they are and trying to understand them. Your world could be turned upside down by a traumatic event such as Heart failure or the like but your friends will always support you no matter what.

Just to remind Committee members our next committee meeting will be held on Tuesday 16th September 08 at the Fishguard Bay Hotel at 2.00 pm.

Our next meeting of the Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group will be a the Fishguard Leisure Centre on Friday 12th September 08, with Phase 4 session starting at 10.00 am and Phase 3 starting at 1.00 pm. For more information either contact Terry Grover on 01239 820607 or John Palmer on 01348 872240 or indeed why not visit our website www.FishguardCRG.co.uk as so generously sponsored by ePembs.
