Welcome to the
Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group Established 2007 |
News - 12th September 2008 With the vast improvement of weather conditions, the Fishguard Leisure Centre was more or less over run by members of Cardiac Rehabilitation Groups, using both the fitness suite and gymnasium, in the morning Phase 4 group and by Phase 3 group in the afternoon on Friday 12th September 08. It is so rewarding to see so many using the excellent facilities at the Leisure Centre and so encouraging for the professional heart specialists in attendance, who had incorporated new exercises and appliances to the Rehabilitation programme. A warm welcome was given to Lynne Phillips who has been incapacitated for the pass few weeks with back problems. Also greetings were given to John Owen who had been on an extended vacation. It is understood our Cardiac Nursing Specialist Irene will be returning from her vacation on Friday 19th September 08, full of vim and vigour. During the “cooling down” period and that most welcomed “cuppa”, a rendering of Happy birthday was sung in harmony to the secretary John Palmer, who responded accordingly. The secretary gave an evaluation to the questionnaire appertaining to the proposed Activity respite Holiday in early Spring 2009, which was met with approval, and from the presentation made more members became interested in the project A reminder that the next Steps2Health walk will be held on Thursday 18th September 08, which will be at Tenby to Penally via the South Beach, meeting at the Green starting at 10.00 am. The following walk will be held on Thursday 2nd October 08 meeting at the Newport Sailing Club Car Park, to enjoy the views of Newport estuary and Parrog Beach. Once again the start time will be 10.00 am. Our next regular meeting of “Terry and his Pacemakers” will be on Friday 19th September 08 at the Fishguard Leisure Centre with Phase 4 Group members session starting at 10.00 am and Phase 3 Group members session starting at 1.00 pm.
