Welcome to the
Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group Established 2007 |
News - 15th August 2008 It was so pleasing to see the magnificent facilities of the Fishguard Leisure Centre being used by so many people on Friday 15th August 08, from the very young to the more senior age group hopefully having caught the “Fitness Bug” in becoming more active. Members of the Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group were buoyant to get into exercise mode through not being able to have much exercise during the week due to atrocious wet & windy weather conditions experienced by us all. Best wishes for a speedy recovery were extended to Clive Jackson, Phase 3 Group of Fishguard Lower Town, currently in Ward 3 of Withybush Hospital receiving medical treatment. Secretary announce two wonderful donations had been received from Ann & Chris Palmer, of Stepaside and also Mary Raymond of Mathry, to which our very grateful thanks is given for their kindness and thought. Ann Palmer will also be attempting a sponsored swim at Saunderfoot on Boxing Day on behalf of the Fishguard Cardiac Rehab: Group, to whom we applaud for her assiduous breath taking undertaking. After so much time effort and preparation by many, to organise the Carnival at Newport & the show at Hayscastle on Saturday 16th August 08, both events had to be cancelled due once again to the typical British weather conditions, with rain, sodden grounds and high winds. We hope and pray for better circumstances for the Fishguard & District Round Table Carnival to be held at Lota Park on Saturday 23rd August 08, hoping you will all come to talk to our Cardiac Nursing Specialist with your Coronary problems and anxieties, she will be delighted to welcome you. Could Cardiac Rehabilitation help you get back on your feet? The National Campaign for Cardiac Rehabilitation aims are to ensure that all heart patients has access to a high-quality Cardiac Rehabilitation as part of a vital life-saving treatment. At your next appointment with your GP or your Cardiologist concerning your heart problem, ask if you can be referred for Cardiac Rehabilitation session. If your medical professional thinks you would not benefit from Rehab: or if it is not available, you must be told why. We all look forward to meeting you Please note the “Step2Health” walk at Blackpool Mill on Thursday 21st August 08 has been cancelled due to reasons unknown. Due to the Summer bank Holiday there will not be any Rehabilitation Programme for Friday 22nd August 08. Our next merry meeting of “Terry and his Pacemakers” will be at the Fishguard Leisure Centre on Friday 29th August 08.
