Welcome to the
Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group Established 2007 |
News - 21st November 2008 Friday 21st November 08 saw a reduction in members attending the Rehabilitation sessions due to coughs & colds, which did temporary eradicate the problem of overcrowding. Management have publicised they are contemplating holding three Rehabilitation sessions on a Friday, to relieve the congestion and overcapacity for all concerned. This proposal will hopefully start in the New Year. The Chairman & Secretary attended yet another successful Pembrokeshire Association for Voluntary Services (PAVS) “Funding the Future” meeting held at the Queens Hall, Narberth on Tuesday 18th November 08. It was so rewarding to meet face-to-face with the “Funders”, which included the Big Lottery Fund, Welsh Assembly Government, Finance Wales & many more representatives. The event was supported by a wonderful free lunch buffet, during which the various exhibitors had the opportunity to discuss topics with the voluntary sector on a more personal note, which benefited many organisations. Congratulations to PAVS on yet another well-organised and fruitful day. By very kind permission of Jackie, proprietor of the Ship & Anchor, High Street, Fishguard. Committee members held a successful “Coffee Morning” on Thursday 20th November 08, albeit trade was slow but steady throughout the morning and it was so pleasing to meet so many old & new friends over jovial conversation, a cup of tea and biscuit. The Ladies of the Group had worked extremely hard in activating their baking skills, as the “Cake Stall” was a treat to see with such a variety of confectionary, to which our indebted thanks are given to them all for their hard work. Appreciation was also given to Eileen Webb for all her sterling efforts manning the Bric-a-Brac stall. All 10 raffle prizes were claimed on the day and the winning “Entrance Fee” ticket was won by Jill Raymond of Letterston. Our sincere appreciation to Jackie and her willing staff at the Ship & Anchor for their kind and generous hospitality and indeed the general public for all their support given. We will be holding our first Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 2nd December 08 at the Fishguard Bay Hotel, 1.30 pm for 2.00 pm. All are welcome to attend and indeed hopefully will take part. A United Pembrokeshire Cardiac Rehabilitation festive party will be held at the Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock on Wednesday 10th December 08. All Cardiac Support Groups are more than welcome to attend. There will be live entertainment during the afternoon. Our next merry meeting of Terry and his Pacemakers will be held at the Fishguard Leisure Centre on Friday 28th November 08 with the first session starting at 10.00 am and the second session starting at 1.00 pm.
