Members having had no Rehabilitation Programme for Friday 22nd August 08 were delighted to have the outdoor exercise to support the Fishguard & District Round Table successful Carnival at Lota Park on Saturday 23rd August 08.

It was so magnificent to see so many partaking in the well organised Carnival, in particular the number of “Floats” and the creative novel ideas and indeed all the numerous Charitable Organisations working in harmony for they’re various causes. From all the different languages and dialects heard, visitors from far and wide enjoyed the day although spoiled by the inclement weather at the end of the event. Many people took advantage of our Cardiac Nursing Specialist, Irene Hartup’s information on healthy living & exercise, hoping they will adopt and implement the valuable guidance given towards a better quality of life. A big well done to the all the members of the Fishguard & District Round Table for organising yet another brilliant event for the community to enjoy.

Grateful thanks to all the members of the Cardiac Group who donated such a wonderful array of prizes towards the “Tombola”, raffle and Bric-a-Brac and indeed to Shirley Inman & Eileen Webb for all they’re sterling time and efforts in managing they’re stall in such breezy conditions.

Our Chairman, Mr Terry Grover, naming of the “Penguin” competition was won by Mrs Fowler of Fishguard, who named the flightless bird “Petrina”. Congratulations.

Clive Jackson of Lowertown, Fishguard is making slow but steady progress to better health and our best wishes for a speedy full recovery is echoed by all the members of the Cardiac Group.

Our next merry meeting of Terry and his Pacemakers will be on Friday 29th August 08 at the Fishguard Leisure Centre with Phase 4 group session starting at 10.00 am and Phase 3 group starting at 1.00 pm.
