Welcome to the
Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group Established 2007 |
News - 24th October 2008 Numbers attending Rehabilitation Group on Friday 24th October were well down on recent attendances mainly due to various types of incapacity. However it was rewarding to see Mrs Angie Flude back in commission after gaining speedy relief to her sufferings. Mr Gerry Williams is still having problems and is currently receiving treatment at Cardiff University Hospital and also to all the other members that are in poor health best wishes for quick remedies to resolve their respective problems our thoughts are with you all. A great buzz of excitement amongst those present could be heard with the introduction of a new published monthly “News Letter” as complied by Mike Flude, hoping it will disseminate some of the forthcoming events and activities and indeed encouraging members input to the editorial, keeping everyone well informed. It is equally important to assist the Rehabilitation programme for the social activities of getting together, keeping in touch, and the wonderful camaraderie generated at such occasions as a prescribed tonic towards the therapies, it particular for those living on their own or in isolated areas attending our Friday meetings. Carers also benefit from the support they give to each other which relate to apprehension, anxiety and uncertainty of Heart Decease, which has suddenly been imposed upon them and many carers indulge in the physical exercises, keeping their own physical education and health in trim. A warm welcome was given to another cardiac member, Sarah Jones who joined the Cardiac Rehab: Committee on Tuesday 21st October 08, who volunteered to take control of the sale of the wonderful authenticated Christmas cards produced by Ruth, which are literally selling like “Hot Cakes”. Members were invited to partake with the Cardiac Secretary on the Fishguard & District Round Table “Cawl Crawl” fund-raising event around the Fishguard area on 1st November 08, which received some positive action. Our next regular meeting of Terry and his Pacemakers will be at the Fishguard Leisure Centre on Friday 31st October 08 (Halloween) but please note the earlier times to the start of sessions. Phase 4 at 09.30 and Phase 3 at 12.00 noon, this is due to a children’s event taking place in the afternoon.
