Welcome to the
Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group Established 2007 |
News - 30th May 2008 In the temporary absence of our regular Cardiac Nursing Specialist Irene Hartup her duties were fulfilled by Assistant Cardiac Nursing Specialist Andrew Kirkhouse on Friday 30th May 08. Andrew was kept very busy in helping the more senior members of the Group in their exercises, giving advice and guidance into more gentle variations of similar exercises carried out by the other Phase 4 members. A warm welcome back into the Group was given to Norman & Judith Shale after their winter Holidays in sunny Spain. Sadly Norman did not enjoy the later part of his vocation due to a re-occurrence of his Coronary problem, but thankfully he is now back on the road to recovery. Joyce Bloomfield was pleased to have been able to join in the tailor-made exercises once again after a long period of absence from the Group; casting her walking aid aside she cheerfully embraced the happy atmosphere and camaraderie given during the “work-out” period. As a Group, which is growing each week, we are immensely proud to announce that as from the generosity of the general public and Fishguard Masonic Orders we have been able to purchase 20 wrist and chest heart monitors, which are essential to our professional staff and indeed to the Cardiac Patient themselves to monitor or warn of any malfunctioning of the heart during exercises. Our grateful thanks to you all. The next united Pembrokeshire Cardiac Rehabilitation meeting will be held on 24th June 08 at the notorious Harp Inn, Letterston 1.00 pm for 1.30 pm. Our next merry meeting of “Terry and his pacemakers” will be at the Fishguard Leisure Centre on Friday 6th June 08, Phase 4 Group starting at 10.45 am and Phase 3 Group members at 2.00 pm. There are rumours that meeting times will be changing in the near future. For more information contact Terry Grover on 01239 820607 or John Palmer on 01348 872240 or indeed why not visit our website www.FishguardCRG.co.uk as so generously sponsored by ePembs. Keep your Heart Healthy by plenty of exercise and don’t forget those “Five a Day” fruit and Veg. |
