Welcome to the
Fishguard Cardiac Rehabilitation Group Established 2007 |
News - 31st October 2008 The temporary early start to the Rehabilitation programme on Friday 31st October 08 caused considerable confusion with members arriving at various times, however everyone enjoyed themselves during the workout. A warm welcome was given to Ian who was being inducted into his first stages of becoming a BACR fitness instructor and to Carol Bramham on her graduation to the Phase 4 programme. Gerry Williams paid a visit to the morning session albeit not yet fit enough to partake in the fitness classes, however was hoping to be back in training on Friday 7th November 08. All our other members that are not in good health a speedy relief to your sufferings and hopefully return to better health, soon. During the cooling down period and enjoying a welcome “cuppa” the secretary reminded members of the forthcoming Autumn Bazaar to be held at Dinas School on Saturday 8th November 08, starting at 10.00 am until 1.00 pm. It looks to be an excellent turn out as numerous people have already booked tables for the event. We welcome your support. An incite into the Spring Holiday was given by the organiser, which received a stamp of approval, by all those who will be attending the event. Our group is planning a “Coffee Morning” at the Ship & Anchor, High Street, Fishguard on Thursday 20th November 08. Ladies of both Phase 3 & Phase 4 have been requested to put their baking skills to the test to support the “Cake Stall” on the day or any other ladies of the general public who can offer any baking skills. Tickets for the event will be on sale shortly. Saturday 1st November 08 saw a conglomerate of Fishguard Cardiac members partaking in the Fishguard & District Round Table’s brilliant fund-raising event “Cawl Crawl” around the Fishguard area. Like the Grand National many of our members fell foul of large portions at venues around the 4th & 5th fence due the restriction on cholesterol intake. Some members after the second “taster” were down to sharing just one bowl of Cawl and four spoons. With variant types of crockery, consisting of cups, mugs, soup bowls and even in one Hostelry terrines were used The atmosphere of joviality, friendship and happiness was a pleasure to witness and indeed the integration of the local community meeting at any one of the 27 participating establishments was a pleasure to be part of. A big well done to the Fishguard & District Round Table for yet another fantastic idea in bringing the local community together and mobilizing the Saturday afternoon sofa brigade, we look forward to the next “Cawl Crawl”. Perhaps this could become a National competition!!! Well done also to all the participating Hostelries some of which still in they’re Halloween costumes! Our next merry meeting of Terry & his Pacemakers will at the Fishguard Leisure Centre (Today) Friday 7th November 08 starting at the normal time of 10.00 am for Phase 4 & 1.00 pm for Phase 3.
