Friday 23rd January 09 saw our Cardiac Nursing Specialist, Irene Hartup back on duty after her short period of incapacity, due to a virile infection and not a Heart problem as some people were lead to understand, who received a tremendous welcome from all the Cardiac Members. Irene was kept extremely busy with another three new Cardiac Patients, who were put at ease during their preliminary insight into Cardiac Rehabilitation.

Our official photographer, Barrie Thomas had a short overnight stay in Withybush Hospital due to a sudden medical problem and is now convalescing at home. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Barrie, knowing you are being looked after well in the capable hands of your wife Olive.
Sarah Jones celebrated a milestone birthday on 19th January 09, the occasion when they say, “life begins”. Many congratulations Sarah, from us all at the Fishguard Cardiac Group.

Judith & Norman Shale, of St Dogmaels conveyed best wishes to all the members of the Cardiac Group for a happy healthy 2009, both are in good health in particular Norman who is adapting to his new “pacemaker”.

During the cooling down period the secretary informed members of dates for member’s diaries.

Friday 3rd April 09 a fund-raising “Grand Raffle Draw” will take place at the Fishguard Leisure at 12.00 noon. Numerous prizes have already been received and pledges made by many other businesses to this event, to which we are most grateful toward their kindness and support. Tickets will be on sell within the near future.

Thursday 16th April 09 arrangements have been made to hold a Fund-raising “Coffee Morning” by kind permission by the proprietor of the “Royal Oak” Fishguard Square.

Thursday 7th May 09 by kind permission of the management of “Somerfield” our Group will be holding a “Flag Day”. Please do not clash with these events.

Fishguard & District Round Table members have recognised our local Cardiac work in donating a fantastic sum of £500.00 towards our Group’s respite activity holiday on the Isle of Wight 11th May – 16th May 09, which incorporates the Island’s walking festival. Our Group offers sincere gratitude for the very kind thought, deed and generous donation to all of the Fishguard Round Tablers for all their industrious charitable undertakings.

The Cardiff trip to see Connie Fisher in the musical “The Sound of Music” was well patronized, which will take place at the Millennium Centre on 28th and 29th August 09 with an over night stay in the four star Holland Hotel, arrangements are being made through Richards Bros Luxury Coaches.

Our next merry meeting of Terry & his Pacemakers will be on Friday 30th January 09 at the Fishguard Leisure Centre with the first session starting at 09.30 am.
