On Monday 1st March 04 a few members of the Stroke Club, by invitation, attended the Fishguard Kemes Lodge of Freemasons to join in their St Davids Day celebrations in a wonderful Cawl-a-Caws evening. During the events of the evening their reigning Master, Paul Hosgood presented a sum of money to the Club's Chairman, Mr Michael Lewis of monies as raised during the Lodge's activities at Christmas. One lady Club member commented that she had lived in the Fishguard area all her life and this is the first time that she has ever been inside the Masonic Hall, and what a joy and pleasure it was to view not only the inside of this magnificent building but also the kind hospitality given by it's members throughout the evening and the bottomless Cawl saucepan which was indeed the best she had ever tasted, a credit to the chef. Also during the evening cheques were presented to Fishguard Sea Scouts, The Friendship Circle and three young budding Rugby players.

Tuesday 2nd March 04 saw an invasion of “Outlaw Line Dancers” at St Teresa's Convent Hall. Not a very warm day weather wise with snow still lingering on the ground, but latter proved a very warm and delightful afternoon, when audience participation was duly encouraged and greatly appreciated and enjoyed by Club members under the direction of the line dancers choreographer Rita Webb. Zimmer frames and wheelchairs were cast aside when the help and assistance of the fit line dancers was seconded to none. A very big thank you to Rita and her troupe of Line dancers for a most pleasant and enjoyable afternoon.

The Chairman gave apologies from a number of missing members who due to un-avoidable circumstances could not attend.

Our PVTA drivers thought their 16 seat specialised mini-bus needed some air-condition improvements so a new configuration were made the plastic air vent on the vehicle's roof by driving under the railway bridge leading from Jackson's Way. The warning height restriction reflected 2.7 metres and the Vehicles height was known to be 2.6 metres but JFK and Ken forgot the modification of the plastic air vent was 0.2 metres.

Our sincere thanks to all those ladies that created, presented and duly cleared away after such a magnificent tea, which was enjoyed by all.

Our next meeting will be at St Teresa's Convent hall on Tuesday 16th March 04 when we shall be exercising your Bowling Skills once again.
