In glorious weather on Tuesday 6th September 05, members arrived at St Teresa’s Convent Hall to reminisce and enjoy an afternoons entertainment of captured film & videos regarding the fantastic grant cheque presentation, from the Big Lottery Fund, at the Royal Oak, Fishguard and the recent respite holiday at Plymouth. Much enjoyment and hilarity was resurrected from the antics preformed by “Gladys & Blodwyn” during the holiday evening entertainment. Grateful thanks to Alun Vaughan who supplied the electronic equipment, installation & running of the same.

Two Ladies from America, namely Joan Jenkins from Arizona & Lilly Phillips from California, sister-in-law & sister of Mrs Annie Percey were warmly welcomed as Club guests, by the Chairman. Both ladies are on an extended vocation in Pembrokeshire and are due to return to USA on the Queen Mary 2, leaving Southampton on 14th October 05. Joan having been brought up in Letterston emigrated to America in 1955, whilst Lilly emigrated to the States in 1950. Both would welcome contact from any old friends.

Apologies were given on behalf of the following members: -

Ann Watkins, Ann Harries, Brian Dickin, Graham & Wendy Bindon, Roger & Dorothy Beckwith, Vaughan & Olivia Evans, Lillian Evans, Eluned Owen, Kay Richards, Ivor Evans, Mona James & Sheila Evans.

Members were reminded of the sponsored walk as postponed from 5th July 05 will now take place on Tuesday 20th July 05, starting at Gary’s Fish-n-Chip restaurant at 12.00 noon. Once again our sincere gratitude to the general public for their excellent support given to this event. Lunch at the Fishguard Bay Hotel will take place after the sponsored walk.

Congratulations were extended to Wendy on the very successful outings to the Victorian Conservatory Tea Rooms and to the Musical Show “Oliver” at Aberystwyth. Those attending the events had much pleasure & enjoyment.

For next years programme of events, member’s thoughts & input were requested as to Guest Speakers, Outings & Activities to which research & the committee can make further investigations.

Due to the temporary absence of Brian Dickin, duties of the raffle fell upon our competent treasurer Bryn Davies who managed to raise a fruitful taking from the evolution. It was pleasing to note that our lady guests from America both won a prize each to take back USA. Thanks were given to all those members that donated raffle prizes.

Our grateful thanks to Sue Langford, Christine Williams & Roger Hibben who completed the tea & washing-up duties
