Llanelli Outing
Summerdale Coaches provided the transport for the Club’s Christmas shopping trip to Llanelli on 15th November 05. With 40 members, invited guests & electric scooters loaded, our Coach driver Rodney Kendrick managed to deliver members to Llanelli in time to enjoy lunch. Once the wheelchairs & electric scooters were offloaded & made ready, the members sped off to enjoy the undercover shopping and level surfaces of the Llanelli precinct to partake in their Christmas shopping.
A delightful reunion was made with Valerie & Robin Lewis, expatriates of Letterston, as our tired and weary Christmas shoppers, returned from their exploits to the coach for the return journey back to Fishguard. Once members settled in their seats it was not long before heavy eyes were closing fast and bottom jaws were dropping, for a well-earned nap.

Condolences were given to Jean & John Kingsnorth, on the bereavement of Jeans’ Mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and the family in their very sad loss.
Robert Warlow our youngest Stroke Club victim, has recently moved from St Thomas Green, Haverfordwest to the Cartreff Hotel, Fishguard and is looking for a temporary foster home for his pet budgie, until such time he can be re-housed in suitable accommodation, so that his little friend can have proper exercise.
Michael & John gave a fashion parade of the new “all weather” coat, which was favoured by many members, and orders taken.
The Committee thanked Ann Goodman for the very kind donation of a large cuddly toy, given as a prize for a future raffle.
Wendy was kept busy as usual; updating outing lists, on this occasion the Christmas lunch at Beggar’s Reach, Country Hotel, which has been heavily booked by members.
John & Michael visited the Newport Stroke Club on Friday 11th November 05, to renew old friendships. The Members & Committee gave a warm welcome and generous hospitality. Club members observed the two-minute silence in remembrance of those fallen in the two great wars with thought & dignity.
Our next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday 6th December 05 when we will be having Christmas Lunch at Beggar’s Reach, Country Hotel.
