Tuesday 19th April 05 one could detect a scene of excitement as Members arrived at the St Teresa’s Convent Hall to receive their individual respite Holiday arrangements.

Apologies were given on behalf of the following members: -

Tommy Reynolds was in Withybush hospital recovering from another Stroke. Mona James is still commuting Cardiff to receive medical treatment. Ann Goodman had been rushed into hospital after having a nasty fall causing injury to her back. Best wishes for speedy recoveries were extended to them all.

The Chairman gave apologies from Lillian Rees, Ann Goodman, Terry Williams & Mr & Mrs Vaughan Evans.

Michael Lewis read letters of thanks from Ms Josephine Thomas and from Mrs Rosemary Sinnott (the late Judi Chapman’s sister).

Without further ado the chairman welcomed Wendy Bindon, Holiday Organiser to give a presentation of the respite holiday, which is to Plymouth commencing on 2nd May 05.

Members were advised of their relevant pick-up points and times.

A summary of the itinerary read as follows: -

2nd May 05 Travel to Plymouth with comfort stops enroute. Arriving at the New Continental Hotel, Plymouth at approx 4.15pm

3rd May 05 Visit Plymouth Waterfront & Dome. Evening entertainment.

4th May 05 Visit Plymouth Activity Stroke Club at St Budeaux for buffet lunch. Tour across Dartmoor in the afternoon. Evening entertainment by Plymouth Lions.

5th May 05 Free day for exploring Plymouth. Evening entertainment bthe Tamar Valley Ladies Barbershop Chorus

6th May 05 Visit Dartington Hall Gardens, Cider Press & Village. Evening entertainment.

7th May 05 Depart for home stopping at Sanders Garden World for lunch and comfort stops as required, arriving back in Pembrokeshire approx 6.00pm.

The Chairman thanked Wendy for the excellent presentation and for the dedicated effort in planning and organising such a mammoth task, bringing pleasure, happiness and in many cases, enriching the quality of life for Club Members.

The raffle was conducted by Brian Dickin and was completed without incident.

Many thanks to all the Ladies in the preparation of tea and the domestic science of washing up, particularly to our newest member Annie Watkins who gave much assistance throughout the afternoon.
