Club members arrived at St Teresa’s Convent Hall on Tuesday 1st February 05 earlier than usual to win some fabulous prizes donated to the afternoon’s “tombola” session. Virginia was solemn having forgotten her lucky pens placing total blame on Michael’s impatient attitude to get to his lucky seat within the Club.
After a little decorum was made the Chairman, Mr Michael Lewis informed members of some of the forthcoming attractions for Club members to enjoy.
9th February 05 Hollywood on Ice at Cardiff International Arena to enjoy a spectacular afternoon matinee with the Stars. Bus departure time will be 10.30am at lower Letterston hoping to arrive at Cardiff in time for a quick cup of tea and a bun before the show. On the return journey the coach will be stopping at the 600 years old, White Hart Thatched Inn & Brewery, at Llanddarog, run by the Coles family, for an evening meal. With real ale flowing, the time for arriving home was left in abeyance.

The Chairman praised Wendy for all her hard work and dedication given in organising this years respite holiday at Plymouth 2nd May – 7th May, the Hotel, Coach, Insurance, Day trips out whilst on holiday and indeed down to the finesse of evening entertainment has been applied and organised with much detail. But on a down note the Holiday Secretary requested all payments to be made in full by 31st March 05.
Apologies were received from Brenda Jauch, Mona James, Dorothy Beckwith and Mr & Mrs Vaughan Evans.
Mrs Gladys Fieldhouse a guest of the Club, having enjoyed the kind hospitality and warm welcome given to her on each of her visits, made a generous donation to Club funds which was applauded by all and also brought a smile to the Treasurer’s face.
A letter of greetings and thanks from Sylvia & Raymond Young was read. They will not be able to partake in this years Holiday due to Raymond’s health condition. Also a postcard was read from Rita & Viv who are thoroughly enjoying the sun in foreign parts and wished to be remembered to all Club members.
Without further ado some decorum was brought once again upon the members good behaviour when “Tombola’s” mysterious words “eyes down” brought total focus to those fifteen numbers on a small ticket. The Committee would like to thank all those persons that donated so many prizes for the Tombola and the wonderful raffle.
Also much appreciation is given to all the ladies and gents that served tea and done the necessary tidying up afterwards.
