With the bowling area well polished by Trevor and Peter to receive our keen "Boccia" bowling competitors, on Tuesday 1st July 03, at St Teresa's Convent Hall saw Club members arriving in their various coloured supportive team strips to encourage their respective teams. Tony was in his Scarlet shirt (something to do with Llanelli).

Before commencement of the bowling, Chairman, Mr Michael Lewis gave a report on absent Club members. Stan "our man" was still unwell and is being well cared for in Parc-y-Llyn. Doreen is back at home and is being looked after by Social Services. A warm welcome was given to Robert Warlow after his recent knee operation and was making excellent progress. Ben Fenemore and Viv Rowles have both been "under the weather" and awaiting medical reports. Olivia Evans was also making good headway. Word was given that Sister Rose was making a slow but steady recovery after recent surgery. Our prayers and very best wishes for a full and speedy recovery were extended to all those currently in poor health.

Kay Richards was visiting her relations in the Emerald Isle and was still looking for those elusive leprechauns to bring her luck. Judi Chapman was taking a short but well-earned break in North Wales with her daughter.

Members were invited to submit their names for next year's respite holiday, which will take place at Llandrindod Wells, 16th May - 21st May 2004, at the Metropole Hotel.

Michael thanked Club members that helped to erect and dismantle the Marquee at a private function in Dinas.

With domestic matters aired, teams were positioned in their respective bowling lots. The umpire warned teams of the highly polished flooring so as to dis-courage heavy-handed and erratic bowling to avoid "dead bowls in the ditch". With rules only known to Michael and Tony, the competition final got underway, with our Treasurer, Bryn Davies recording scores. A "play off" to decide the three ultimate positions were made between Elwyn Evans, Lillian Evans and Joyce Morgan. Joyce proving to be a worthy champion taking gold, Lillian silver and Elwyn bronze. Rita Rowles presented the prizes due to the temporary absence of the President, Mr Fenemore.

Our next meeting will be an afternoons drive to Barn Court, Templeton for a cream tea and a walk round the antiques on 15th July 03.
