Tuesday 7th October 03 saw an excellent attendance of Club members at St Teresa's Convent Hall, although weather conditions had deteriorated from a glorious summer to an almost winter climate in one mighty leap, did not deter members from attending.
Our PVTA drivers, Ken & John had to work extremely hard making triple journeys to collect and return members to their respective homes scattered about in our rural district. A big well done to you both for all your sterling services provided.
Our Chairman, Mr Michael Lewis brought members to order so as to introduced Brian and Christine Williams from Crundale and Gloria Ogden from Fishguard as new members into the Club. Assembled members warmly welcomed all three by a rapturous round of applause.
Apologies had been received from Joyce and Tony Green and Rita.
Michael reminded members of the forthcoming Fish-n-Chip Supper at "Something's Cooking" on 14th October 03 and Coffee morning on Thursday 23rd October 03, requesting raffle prizes for both events.
Smart Polo and Sweatshirts with Club's logo as supplied by BJS Promotions, Rosebush, modelled by our Treasurer, Bryn Davies, brought members focus and attention to induce immediate purchasing of the garments (It could have been Bryn's portly torso, which persuaded the Ladies members to circum to their purchases)?
A rendering of Happy Birthday was sung to Joyce Morgan, who assured us "we" had the wrong date. However Joyce, we hope you have many, many more Happy Birthdays with us and we will hopefully get it right next time.
Our Email sponsor, Mr Phil Davies paid a visit to the Club to take a group photograph and was amazed at the memberships attendance. Due to the large number involved he suggested forming two photographic groups, which he will incorporate onto the website.
With everyone's mind now switched onto the programmed Quiz, "Plants and Flowers" bewilderment and puzzlement was noticed on many brows. Elwyn Evans who tabulated the quiz volunteered to sit back and enjoy the brainteaser. Occasional he would give a quirk smile listening to some possible answers coming from different quarters. The outright winner was Margaret Phillips and Ann Goodman coming in a close seconded.
Thank you to all those that donated raffle prizes, which raised £42.00, with some persuasion coming from Ben, Michael and Bryn to those that had short arms and deep pockets.
Once again our sincere gratitude to all the Ladies that prepared, served and completed all the clearing up after the light refreshments.
Our next meeting will be on 21st October 03, at St Teresa's Convent Hall, to whom we will host a mystery Guest Speaker.
